U. S. Navy Commodores Jazz Ensemble is one of the BIG headliners for 2005 Jazzfest. Leader is saxophonist Steve Williams, a Pensacola native and son of the late beloved Dr. Grier Williams, former chair of Music Dept at UWF and 17 year Conductor of Pensacola Symphony. U. S. Navy Commodores is the Premier Band of the Navy, based in Washington, DC. The Jazz Ensemble is a "band within a band."
