     The Jazz Society of Pensacola's Jazz Gumbo (implying a delicious mix of various ingredients giving a wonderful effect) happens every third Monday evening of each month except December at Seville Quarter located in downtown Pensacola at 130 E. Government St. in Pensacola. Live jazz is featured in a variety of styles with groups or bands chosen from around the Emerald Coast area. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and music happens from 6:00 till around 8:30.
     Cost of admission is $7 for JSOP members, $10 for nonmembers, $5 for students with ID and free for military people in uniform. Admission includes a cup of sea food gumbo. The Jazz Society of Pensacola's Jazz Gumbo - every third monday of the month except DecemberDoor prizes are given away via drawing of admission tickets, and attendees can purchase 50/50 tickets for another drawing where the winner gets half and JSOP gets the other half as a benefit to the Society's music program. One may order from the menu and cash bar is also available. The music is great and there is plenty of time to visit and meet old and new jazz friends.
Guests are welcome.
Those joining the Society get free admission to their first Jazz Gumbo. Our monthly Jazz Gumbos are a great jazz happening for music and fun with friends in jazz.

Swing Chronicles
Jazz Society Of Pensacola's own Charlie McIntosh's Swing Chronicles airs every Wed. on WUWF-FM 88.1 from 9-10 PM.
 

Monday, February 4
Jazz Jam at eat! (restaurant at 287 N. Palafox, Corner Wright and Palafox Streets). Begins at 7 p.m. Admission is $5 per person. Performing musicians free--bring your axe and sign in to jam. Complimentary appetizers. Bar service.

JazzFest Goes On from 6-9 p.m. in the Phineas Phogg Room at Seville Quarter. DIVA EXTRAVAGANZA-featuring vocalists Holly Shelton, Kathy Lyon, Saundra Daggs and Josephine Mayo. They will be backed by Joe Occhipinti's Big Band. Cost: $20 per ticket in advance, $25 per person at the door. Students with ID $5 at the door. Advance Tickets available at JSOP events, Seville Quarter, Reynalds Music and Dollarhide's Music and Sound as well as the JSOP office. The JSOP office can take your Visa, MasterCard or American Express card at 433-8382 during office hours 9-noon weekdays.


Monday, February 18
Jazz Gumbo features Roger Villines and "Trumpets in Time V." In addition to Roger on trumpet/fulgelhorn, band will be comprise the Guffman Trio (Cynthia Domulot on piano, Fred Domulot on drums, Dr. Bob Andrews on bass) and Bob Maksymkow on sax/clarinet. This is a popular feature with the group performing tunes done by famous trumpeters in jazz history. Roger has been known to perform Clark Terry's two-handed trumpet/flugelhorn performance-always a big hit. Brought back by popular demand! Costs and times per regular Jazz Gumbos.
